• xanga and the future…

  Xanga as you’ve heard, is giving us an ultimatum – help us stay live by giving us money, or shut down its site. Didn’t twinkies (Hostess), just do the same thing a year ago (in a way)? Everyone went ape shit, (myself included), bought up as much hostess snacks as I could, so I could own my little piece of nostalgia. Clones appeared, you could have your “fake” twinkies and ding dongs, and that was doable, but not the same.  Then wouldn’t you know it, less than a year later, there’s talk of them coming back, stronger than ever.  To me it felt like the public was forced by guerilla tactics to hurry up and buy, only to be thwarted into the, “nah, just kidding!” scheme. Is Xanga doing the same thing here or is this legit?

   

  I’ve made some awesome friends (and i’ll admit, a lover or two), and I cherish those experiences and friendships. Over the years (and I’ve been on here for a LOT of years), and its been an ebb and flow of my time on here, originally it was a daily thing, but as MySpace and eventually facebook took over, and people migrated off here, my time became less and less. But I still tried to post a blog now and again, even recently as my life fell apart, and planned to again make this at LEAST a weekly ritual because I have come to miss blogging and xanga. I know the friends I’ve made here probably won’t read it, bc the majority of them dont come here anymore. Its quite sad really. I hope they are able.to raise the money to keep xanga going. I plan on making it more public then what it is now, but not totally public, for reasons that haven’t changed much since I started.
